Christmas cookies

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is baking. I love hanging out in the kitchen with a big glass of tea and loud Christmas music blasting on the radio. I especially love it when someone bakes with me. This year my brother was in town from college and we were able to make a bunch of different cookies and have a great time together!
Recipe hand written by my Grandma. These cookies are also known as Mexican Wedding Cookies, Russian Cookies, Powder Sugar Balls.

It’s the gift giving season and everyone is looking to give their someone special the perfect gift. It’s one thing to spend a lot of money on your beau, but when the present is well thought out, the meaning is priceless. Take a little more time this season to say “I love you”

Fur therapy

Today on the news I watched a special on Golden Retriever Therapy Dogs helping families in Connecticut. Nothing will ever diminish the pain of the families affected by this horrible tragedy, but maybe a sweet head and a gentle warm body of a Golden can help sooth heavy hearts in the midst of their sorrow. Pictures of the therapy dogs here
I have two Golden Retrievers, Dozer and Zoey, and they have changed my life. I cherish every day I with them. Their gentle demeanor and loyal spirit has helped me through good times and bad times. They are the sweetest, most understanding and loving friend a girl could ask for. Golden Retrievers were brought to Connecticut for a very special mission and I will forever believe in the healing therapy a soft head can bring to a very sad soul.
Hot Chocolate

There is nothing better than a hot steamy cup of hot chocolate by a fire when it’s cold and rainy outside. I have never been a fan of the store bought, chalky, bland hot chocolate that comes in a pouch. I guess you can call me somewhat of a hot chocolate snob. But once you’ve tasted the rich & flavorful makings of a homemade, milk based hot chocolate you will become spoiled just like me. Here is the best recipe i’ve found (By the Frugal Gourmet here)
